Hi! Welcome to The Weight Loss Digest.

My name is Chang. I started training with weights at the age of 15 and kept it up for over a decade. These days I’m more into running and cycling to stay in shape, but still do the odd push-ups, lunges, and curls to maintain some of the muscle I’ve built up over the years.

In the period that I was bodybuilding, I read all there was to read about diet, fitness, and nutrition. I also religiously bought Muscle & Fitness and Flex every month. Both magazines were very informative (with less ads) back then, so needless to say I learned a lot from them. I also own a copy of Joe Weider’s Bodybuilding System (the 1988 publication). While the latter is not available anymore, today you can get a 4 DVD set that provides virtually the same information.

The Weight Loss Digest is a way for me to share some of all of the health & fitness knowledge I’ve accumulated over the years with you. I see so many people struggling to lose weight, while losing weight is a fairly simple and straightforward process that does not have to become a torture.

There are a few basic principles that you need to apply if you want to lose weight. I’ve used these principles many times to lose weight on-demand, that is, I can lose weight whenever I want to without starving myself or resorting to pills. It’s that easy! The only catch is that it takes time and you have to stick with it.

Many people do not have the patience for weight loss, which is why they resort to pills and other weight loss gimmicks that promise fast results. And while these systems might get you down to the weight you want to be fast, they don’t guarantee not harming your health or that you won’t put the weight back on once you get off them. What they also don’t tell you is that when you put the weight back on, you’ll probably be fatter than when you started losing weight in the first place.

Yes, I myself am currently trying to get back into shape after a layoff of almost 3 years. And everything you read here on The Weight Loss Digest, I apply to my own diet and training. I "eat my own dogfood" so to speak. My goal is to reach 18% body fat within 6 months. I’ve already lost 3% in the past 8 weeks, and will be sharing my week-by-week progress with you.
